Children’s author with Abilene ties will sign books Sept. 19

Writing a children’s book is a dream come true for Allie Cook Davis, who grew up in Abilene and now lives in Nashville.

“Clara and the Constellations” is a sweet story about a girl who loves the moon. She dreams of flying up to play among the stars, and one special night that dream comes true. To her surprise and delight, a group of animal constellations also come to life to play a game of catch with her. However, one constellation makes plans to spoil the game, sending Clara back to earth once again.

Allie attended St. John’s School, Austin Elementary, Lincoln Middle School and Abilene High. She is the daughter of Rick and Cathey Weatherl. Allie’s family and a second-grade teacher at Austin Elementary encouraged her to follow her passion to write, and she dreamed of being an author one day.

“Clara and the Constellations” is Allie’s first book, but is only the beginning of her desire to write stories that inspire, teach and entertain. When Allie is not writing or reading, she enjoys living on a mini-farm with her husband and two daughters.
