New book of sports stories
Al Pickett book signing on Saturday
By Glenn Dromgoole
Al Pickett is one of the best sports writers I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
Al is a terrific storyteller, columnist, author, broadcaster, creator of a regional sports hall of fame, family man, and church and civic leader — respected statewide, and especially in his hometown.
His new book, It Must Be A Big Game, is a collection of interesting stories and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. It also includes concise profiles of all 251 people inducted into the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame, which he founded.
Al will be signing copies of It Must Be a Big Game from 1-3 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 18) at Texas Star Trading. Come by and say hello and get an autographed book (or several) for the hard-to-buy-for guys on your list. Paperback, $18.95.
