This book is a tribute to legendary football coach Jimmie Keeling, who spent more than 50 years working with student athletes. All who have crossed his path have great respect for the longtime coach. The book is filled with stories and testimonies from his former players about his the coach and his passion for the game had a powerful influence on their lives. He came to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, in the 1990s to revive the football program. He coached to a 172-53 record at HSU, and had 19 straight winning seasons.
Since that time, more than 150 former players are now coaching. His players are also medical professionals, pastors, military men, first responders and many other professions.
Coach Keeling was one of the first coaches to be honored in the Plaza of Influence -- a tribute to football coaches in Waco. He is a former director and president of the Texas High School Coaches' Association, named to the THSCA Hall of Honor and received many other accolades.
