The Wild Lavender Bookshop

By Jodi Thomas

One of our favorite Texas authors is the Amarillo romance writer and best-selling novelist Jodi Thomas. Her latest novel is The Wild Lavender Bookshop, set in the fictional Texas town of Honey Creek ($17.95 paperback).

A gentle giant of a deputy sheriff is assigned to provide protection to a female Dallas detective, who is trying to be inconspicuous as she hides out from a cartel that wants her dead. The woman hardly needs the deputy’s attention, she feels, but sparks fly. Bullets, too.

A bookstore owner finds life in Honey Creek quite agreeable, especially when a first grade teacher catches his eye.

And the town’s gruff Mr. Fixit named “Bear” has a much more tender side when he has his secret rendezvous with a reclusive lady rancher admirer.

Thomas is a recipient of the A. C. Greene Distinguished Texas Author Award and is a member of the Texas Literary Hall of Fame.
